Ollie, one of the founders of UVSS, has been a driving force in the steel industry since 1979. Starting as a sales representative at Wolhuter Steel, he quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a branch manager and later a director at Gulf Steel.

In 2000, he joined Macsteel Trading as an executive director, overseeing 10 branches and excelling in customer relations, procurement, and sales.

In 2009, he retired early to expand the family’s manufacturing and engineering business, which later evolved into UVSS. Now serving as chairperson, Ollie continues to guide the company in procurement and sales, ensuring its ongoing success under the leadership of Angelo and Peppi Olevano.

Peppi began his career in education in 1974, specializing in technical drawing before becoming a secondary school headmaster. While in education, he was also involved in engineering part-time.

In 1995, he founded Unique Clamps Trust, laying the foundation for UVSS. Passionate about social responsibility, he has contributed to national school sports and community initiatives and currently serves as General Secretary of South African Schools Athletics.

A fair and ethical businessman, Peppi’s expertise lies in production, procurement, and engineering. Holding a B.A. (Hons) in Biokinetics and an HED in Education, he is based at UVSS’s Free State branch in Hennenman

Nival Porun brings a wealth of experience to UVSS, having held multiple senior management roles across engineering, manufacturing, FMCG, and asset management before joining Macsteel Service Centers South Africa in 2013. Currently serving as Operations Executive at Macsteel, he has developed a deep understanding of operational efficiency and strategic leadership.

With a strong academic background in electrical engineering, project management, and business administration, Nival has earned multiple qualifications, including a master’s degree in project management and an MBA. He is currently pursuing a PhD, further strengthening his expertise. His blend of technical knowledge and executive experience makes him a valuable asset to the industry.

Angelo Olevano - CEO

Angelo Olevano is a qualified Chartered Accountant with a strong background in finance and business leadership. He earned his B.Com Honours degree from the University of the Witwatersrand before completing his articles at KPMG in the Energy & Natural Resources division, where he worked with multiple mining clients. His international experience includes a year at PwC in London, handling various global clients.

Since UVSS’s inception in 2012, Angelo has played a key role in shaping the company, initially serving as Financial Manager. Over the past three years, he has transitioned into the role of CEO, driving the company's growth and strategic direction with his financial expertise and industry insight.
